Glodok Chinatown is a tourism gem in West Jakarta which is the result of the collaboration of all existing ethnic groups, such as Chinese, Sundanese, Betawi, Javanese and others. A collaboration formed over hundreds of years.
With tourism potential in the fields of history, old buildings, arts, culture and religion. As well as tourism potential in the fields of shopping, health and culinary variety typical of the Peranakans.

Since the 1740 incident (Geger Pecinan), and with the enactment of the rule that the Chinese must live outside the walls of Batavia, Glodok began to form and become the center of the Chinese residential area (or what we call Chinatown).

In its development, Glodok, which was originally a place of isolation, has become a center of economy and trade. The Glodok area and the Pancoran area have long been the lifeblood of Jakarta's economy.
